Lucas joined the CMI Group as a broker in a training role in 1995. While at CMI, he focused on Commercial Property and Casualty business and, more specifically, in Excess and Surplus Lines.
In 1997, Lucas joined American Marketing Center, which was purchased by CRC Services. Lucas was promoted to a Broker in 1998 and eventually to Vice President and Senior Broker. During that time, Lucas developed a book of Commercial Property & Casualty business from scratch to over $20,000,000. The book was somewhat diverse with a focus on Real Estate, General OL&T & Construction business. Individual account premiums ranged in size from $1,000 – $1,700,000.
During his employment with CRC and with their approval, Lucas assisted his father Abe Snyder on a part-time basis in maintaining and managing Snyder Specialty LLC. At that time, Snyder Specialty was 100% dedicated to E&S personal Lines on an MGA Basis.
Upon receiving his degree at the State University of New York, Lloyd completed his agent training at Aetna Insurance Company. Lloyd has achieved and maintained the National Alliance Certified Insurance Counselor designation since 1995.
Between 1990 and 2000, Lloyd worked in an entry-level position for his family-owned retail insurance agency where significant initial training lead to substantial growth in the agency from $500,000 to over $10,000,000. Lloyd also created and developed a Property/Casualty insurance program for the check-cashing industry, which at the peak of the program reached a premium volume of approximately $8,000,000.
Having a program background has assisted in the placement of large and harder-to-place small risks and in the development of the current Lloyd’s product offerings.
